These patterns illustrate the presenter?s latest published work that has been just recently published this past year. They represent new, revolutionary concepts in data modeling templates. The patterns are quite different than ?Universal Data Models? and represent the most basic building blocks involved in data modeling and different ways to model very common and basic constructs such as statuses, classifications, and hierarchies. Why not use templates in data modeling, what we call ?patterns,? which can serve as a guide for building any type of data model. We have found that these patterns apply to well over 50 percent of most data model constructs and have saved organizations considerable time, cost and effort, while helping to improve data model quality.\nAfter providing different alternatives for each pattern and sharing the pros and cons of each, the instructors show real life examples of applying the patterns and then there are exercises where you can practice applying these powerful patterns. \nParticipants of this seminar will gain:\n

Effective data model templates for modeling very common themes in data modeling such as classifications, statuses, and hierarchies
\n
Alternatives in modeling these patterns ranging from very specific styles of modeling to very generalized styles
\n
Pros and cons behind modeling various alternatives and when to use as well as when not to use these alternatives
\n
Pitfalls in avoiding ineffective ways to model these critical constructs
\n
Experience in applying these patterns to your specific organization
