In recent years it has been noticed that there is a wealth of information on unstructured data but that data has not been used in the corporate decision-making process. There have been some nascent attempts at unlocking unstructured data. But recently technological breakthroughs have allowed corporate unstructured data to actually be integrated into corporate data and the decision making process. The reality of the promise of unstructured data being used in the decision-making process is finally dawning.\nThis half-day presentation discusses the state of where unstructured data processing is at today and describes several concrete examples of the integration of unstructured data into the corporate mainstream.\nSome of the examples that will be displayed and discussed are:\n

the applications of unstructured data in corporate safety, showing organizations where the unsafe places and equipment are in their corporation.\n
contracts management ? bringing corporate contracts into a world of standard relational data bases where analytical processing can be done against the entire base of corporate contracts.\n
documentation, where the semi structured text found in SAP?s ABAP is documented so that organizations can start to migrate to new releases of SAP without getting hamstrung by old ABAP code.\n
other practical, real world applications.
